May 28 to June 3, 2022 | the project
The first UCCRN_edu UDCW focused on a multi-disciplinary and design-oriented proposal aimed at supporting the climate-resilient transformation of the Porte de Montreuil. Porte de Montreuil is located along the eastern ring road of Paris in the 20th arrondissement and the area forms a gateway between the city of Paris and the Greater Paris region.
Aalborg | Randers UDCW Report
November 20 to 26, 2022 | the project
The second UDCW hosted by Aalborg University took place in Randers, Denmark. Students developed a multi-disciplinary and design-oriented proposal aimed at supporting the climate-resilient transformation of Østervold and Middelalderbyen areas for short to medium term developments, also taking into account the long-term development plan of Flodbyen Randers.
Barcelona | Sitges UDCW Report
March 18 to 24, 2023 | the project
The selected public facilities and services which Sitges administration proposed as future climate shelters have been explored, examined and identified according to their strengths and weaknesses so that these can be managed and improved in the near future. This report includes the development of a framework for heat vulnerability and a roadmap for Sitges for integrating shortterm and long-term possibilities as the scientific literature suggests.
Dublin UDCW Report
June 4 to June 10, 2023 | the project
The Report shows the multi-disciplinary planning and design-oriented proposal aimed at supporting plans for a zero-carbon neighbourhood in Dublin City. The aim of the UDCW was to produce multi-scale design solutions supported by robust climate, environmental and social analyses carried out in collaboration with government officials, design & planning practitioners and local communities.
Napoli UDCW Report
March 18 to 24, 2024 | the project
The fifth UDCW of the UCCRN_edu project took place at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, hosted by the Department of Architecture and PLINIVS-LUPT Study Centre. The project aimed at the development of a multi-disciplinary urban planning and design-oriented proposal aimed at supporting plans for a resilient district in the city of Naples.
Rotterdam UDCW Report
June 3 to 9, 2024 | the project
The sixth UDCW of the UCCRN_edu project took place at Platform Zero in Rotterdam, hosted by the IHE-Delft Institute for Water Education. Students developed a multi-disciplinary iterative urban planning and design-oriented proposal aimed at the redevelopment of Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H), a former port area in Rotterdam.
Mons | Charleroi UDCW Report
October 26 to November 1, 2024 | the project
The seventh UDCW of the UCCRN_edu project took place at Charleroi, the leading urban metropolis in Wallonia. Students developed a multi-disciplinary planning and design-oriented proposal aimed at supporting plans for the ‘clean’ development of the “Porte Ouest” case study by 2050 based on the Masterplan by Studio Paola Vigano validated by the city of Charleroi and the Walloon Region in 2021.
